Rich Lit Rights

Rich Lit is a dedicated literary rights agency, representing literary agencies and independent publishers all over the globe. Our focus is on children’s books, quality commercial fiction for adults, select nonfiction, and international titles. We are a London-based agency with transatlantic roots and a global perspective. We attend industry events including Frankfurt, Bologna, and London book fairs, as well as travelling regularly to meet publishers in their offices and participate in publishing fellowships. We believe that every reader deserves access to good stories, regardless of where they live. Books have the power to change lives, cross borders, and bridge the differences between people. We are especially passionate about bringing stories from traditionally underrepresented or marginalised voices to a wider audience. We stand by our BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ colleagues in publishing and on the side of readers everywhere who are disadvantaged by geopolitical and economic circumstances. We take pride in our hand-selling approach to rights, giving each author the attention they deserve to reach their international potential and helping editors to select the best titles to bring joy to their readers. We work directly in every territory except in Asia, where we work exclusively with subagents. We represent foreign rights on behalf of the following clients:ASH Literary: Germany and Italy (adult titles only) and France, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Eastern Europe, Turkey, and the Middle East (all titles)

Rich Lit Rights was founded in 2024 by Rachel Richardson. Rachel has over fifteen years of experience in literary rights. She has navigated the numerous challenges faced by international publishing during this time, and has unparalleled relationships with publishers and editors across the globe. She started her career at Rights People, a rights agency dedicated to children’s books, where she worked on globally known properties, internationally recognised award winners, and blockbuster bestsellers such as Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, Beast Quest, Warrior Cats, Nicola Yoon, Jason Reynolds, and Kate DiCamillo. Most recently she was Rights Director at Watson, Little, a long-established London-based literary agency with a broad list of authors including Alan Moore, Alex Pavesi, Jenny Blackhurst, and Tom Wood. There, she brought the agency’s rights representation in house, building a foreign rights department from the ground up. She has overseen the international careers of bestselling authors at each stage of their career from debut and beyond, overcoming obstacles to ensure their continued success.
